Since I first saw a Blog with a similar theme (<a href="http://www.aarg.net/mason/040527.html">http://www.aarg.net/mason/040527.html</a>), I thought to myself, what the hay. So I’m gonna give it a try. My name is Robert and about a month ago I submitted a petition to become a Mason with Jesse J. Shanks Lodge #137 of Prince Hall Masons. It’s a decision that I came to after thinking about it on and off for about ten years. My petition process took no time but the wait until I go through my First Degree Ritual is brutal. I guess this is supposed to teach patience, so I learn. I’ve been told by other (soon to be) Brother Masons that their process took much longer so I guess a month and a half isn’t that bad. I’m going to try to place a lot of useful links in this blog giving both sides of the story as far as masonry is concerned so that anyone that’s interested can make an informed decision as I did. So first off I’d like to offer for your perusal what is said to be the oldest and possibly first site on Free Masonry (<a href="http://web.mit.edu/dryfoo/www/Masons/">A Page About Freemasonry</a>) on the web. Also Paul Bessel’s site (<a href="http://bessel.org/masrec/">Recognitions</a>) is one of the most informative I’ve seen on the web by far. And for those persons who like conspiracy theories we have ex-masons for Jesus. (<a href="http://www.emfj.org/">Ex-Masons for Jesus</a>).
